Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.  ~ Louse Nevelson

Everywhere I look, I see the world around me in images, I just try to frame things in a way that makes them interesting in two dimensions. Most things are, if you get the composition right, giving an intimate glimpse of so called ordinary things.

Here we have a large rock on the beach, but it’s covered with lichen and if you look closely, there is a photographer standing in front of it, camera to eye. Simple stuff, yet with proper composition and post, certainly an interesting scene. The colors help as well.

Enjoy,
Tom

The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.  ~ W. B. Yeats

Hopefully the world won’t be totally destroyed before we come to our sharper senses! Seriously though, the world is truly filled with magic, you can find it everywhere you look if you have the eyes and the peace of mind to see it when it presents itself. The true poets and artists are highly attuned to it, and you can feel it in their work. You can call it the muse, or intuition or instinct or whatever you want, but it’s inside us all waiting for us to develop and use it’s power.

This little guy is just an everyday creature, but he, like all the creatures on this incredible planet is full of magic. He can survive the cruelest of winters on the food he gathers and buries, not forgetting where to retrieve it, which is magic enough, but how about the little jolt of joy he creates within the hearts of those who are still enough to experience it.

Enjoy,
Tom
